Dart Frog Toxin Used To Kill Navalny? UK, Allies Point Finger At Kremlin

Russian opposition leader Alexei Navalny was killed using a rare toxin derived from dart frogs, according to fresh findings announced by the UK Foreign Office and its Western allies. The development comes nearly two years after Navalny’s death inside a high-security penal colony in Siberia, an incident that had already triggered global outrage and sanctions pressure against Russia.

British Foreign Secretary Yvette Cooper said forensic analysis detected traces of epibatidine, a powerful neurotoxin found in Ecuadorian dart frogs, in samples linked to Navalny’s body. She said there was “no innocent explanation” for the presence of such a toxin and alleged that only the Russian state had the “means, motive and opportunity” to deploy it inside a prison facility.
