    US President Donald Trump’s messaging on the Iran conflict has shifted repeatedly within hours, raising questions about the official narrative of the war. At one point, Trump suggested the conflict was “pretty much complete,” even as the Pentagon indicated that military operations were only beginning. Trump also offered contradictory assessments of Iran’s military capability, first claiming Tehran had “no navy, no air force, no radar,” before later saying most of Iran’s naval power had been destroyed. In another moment, he suggested Iran’s leadership was gone, only to later comment on the country’s newly installed Supreme Leader, implying continuity in the regime.
