Middle East conflict: US–Israel Strike Iran Naval Base, Nuclear Risk Escalates

The conflict between Iran, Israel, and the United States has intensified sharply on Day 24, with a major strike on Iran’s naval base in Bushehr. Explosions were reported at Bandar Imam Khomeini port, causing massive fires and heavy damage. This marks a significant escalation as attacks increasingly target critical infrastructure. The situation has become more alarming with strikes nearing nuclear facilities. Earlier, US-Israel forces targeted Iran’s Natanz nuclear site, prompting retaliation from Iran. Iranian missiles struck areas near Dimona, home to Israel’s Shimon Peres Negev Nuclear Research Center. Although no radiation leak was reported, the attack raised serious global concerns about nuclear risks. Iran’s strikes also hit cities like Arad and Dimona, injuring around 200 people and breaching Israeli air defenses. This signals a dangerous shift toward high-risk targets. Analysts warn the conflict may be entering a second phase, where nuclear-linked sites are increasingly targeted. While no direct nuclear disaster has occurred, the proximity of attacks to such facilities has heightened fears of a potential nuclear crisis if escalation continues.
