    Politics: Tarique Rahman to Take Oath as Bangladesh Prime Minister Today

    Bangladesh is witnessing a historic political moment today as Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) chief Tarique Rahman is set to take oath as the Prime Minister following his party’s majority victory in the parliamentary elections. The swearing-in ceremony will take place at the South Plaza of the Jatiya Sangsad Bhaban in Dhaka at 3:30 PM. New cabinet members will also be sworn in during the ceremony, with President Mohammed Shahabuddin administering the oath of office. Earlier in the day, at 9:30 AM, newly elected Members of Parliament will take their oath, administered by Chief Election Commissioner A. M. M. Nasir Uddin. Approximately 1,200 domestic and international dignitaries are expected to attend the grand ceremony. The event marks a significant political transition in Bangladesh, signaling the formation of a new government under BNP leadership and setting the stage for the country’s next phase of governance.
