War Alert: Iran Rejects US 15-Point Peace Proposal, Issues 5-Point Counter-Demand

The Middle East conflict has entered its 27th day, raising a critical question—will the US launch a ground operation in Iran? Washington now believes reopening the Strait of Hormuz—through which over 20% of global oil flows—may not be possible without boots on the ground. Since late February, Iran has effectively controlled the route and warned it will block enemy ships. Under pressure, Donald Trump has deployed warships and is sending around 2,000 troops from the 82nd Airborne Division, while nearly 50,000 US forces are already present in the region. This buildup has deepened Iran’s distrust. Iran, meanwhile, remains aggressive. It claimed to target the USS Abraham Lincoln with 101 missiles, though the US says all were intercepted. Iran also struck Israel’s Hadera power plant, causing outages and forcing closure of Tel Aviv Airport. Despite heavy destruction in Tehran, public support for Iran’s military remains strong. With both sides unwilling to back down, the war risks becoming a prolonged and dangerous stalemate.
