War Update: One Month of War, Rising Escalation in US–Israel–Iran Conflict

The ongoing conflict between the United States, Israel, and Iran has completed one month, with no signs of de-escalation. The war began on February 28 with Operation Epic Fury, where US-Israel airstrikes reportedly killed Ali Khamenei. In retaliation, Iran launched missile and drone attacks on US bases and regional targets. A major turning point came when Iran closed the Strait of Hormuz, triggering a global oil crisis, with prices crossing $100 per barrel. Iran also targeted commercial shipping, escalating tensions further. Despite US military operations, including “Operation Hormuz,” and threats issued by Donald Trump, the strait remains largely disrupted. Diplomatic efforts have failed, with Iran rejecting ceasefire proposals and setting its own conditions. Recent Israeli strikes on Iranian nuclear sites intensified the conflict, prompting counterattacks in the Gulf region. The entry of additional groups has further widened the war, raising concerns of a prolonged and more destructive regional crisis.
