WarLens: Trump Claims Iran Targets Nearly Destroyed as Experts Question US War Success

As the Middle East conflict enters its 13th day, U.S. President Donald Trump has claimed that almost all major targets in Iran have been destroyed by American and allied military operations. Trump stated that more than 5,500 strikes have already taken place and insisted the war could end whenever he decides, arguing that very little remains to be attacked. His remarks suggest Washington believes it has achieved most of its battlefield objectives. However, defense experts are challenging that claim. Retired Major General Sanjay Meston said the United States has not actually achieved its core politico-military goals. According to him, Iran’s regime remains intact, its missile and drone infrastructure has not been completely neutralized, and concerns around its nuclear capabilities continue. These objectives were widely seen as central to the military campaign. Experts also warn that the regional situation remains volatile. Strategic routes like the Strait of Hormuz are under tension, disrupting shipping and pushing global oil prices higher. Meanwhile, Masoud Pezeshkian, the President of Iran, has set strict conditions for any ceasefire, including recognition of Iran’s rights, compensation for war damage, and guarantees against future attacks.
