China's iQOO Pad Ultra is targeting mobile gamers with an 8.8-inch OLED display, a 165Hz refresh rate and a 9,020mAh battery. Launched on September 29, 2026, the tablet combines flagship-class processing hardware with an integrated active-cooling fan designed to manage heat during demanding gaming sessions. iQOO's official product page confirms the display, battery and cooling system.

165Hz OLED Display Designed for Gaming

The iQOO Pad Ultra features an 8.8-inch OLED display with a resolution of 2,304 × 1,440 pixels. The 165Hz refresh rate is intended to deliver smoother motion in supported games and more responsive scrolling.

iQOO advertises peak local brightness of up to 4,500 nits and a response time below one millisecond. These figures are manufacturer claims and should not be interpreted as guaranteed brightness or response performance across every application and viewing condition. Official specifications are available on the iQOO product page.

Flagship Processor and Gaming Hardware

The tablet uses Qualcomm's Snapdragon 8 Elite Extreme Gen 6 processor, alongside iQOO's dedicated Q4 gaming chip. The combination is intended to support demanding games, high frame rates and graphics-processing features.

The device also includes software and hardware optimisations designed to improve gaming responsiveness. However, the actual frame rate depends on the game, graphics settings, software version and thermal conditions.

Active Cooling Fan and Large Battery

Unlike conventional tablets that rely primarily on passive cooling, the iQOO Pad Ultra incorporates an active cooling fan as part of a five-layer cooling system.

The manufacturer says the system combines a fan, air inlets and multiple heat-dissipation components to help control temperatures during sustained workloads. This design could be useful for players who spend long periods gaming on a compact device.

The tablet houses a 9,020mAh battery and supports 66W charging, according to launch coverage. Battery life will vary depending on screen brightness, network conditions, gaming intensity and other settings. See Gadgets 360's launch report.

China Pricing and Availability

The iQOO Pad Ultra was launched in China, with the reported introductory price starting at CNY 5,999 for the 12GB RAM and 256GB storage configuration. Higher-memory configurations are also available.

This is Chinese-market pricing and should not be converted into an assumed Indian retail price. As of October 12, 2026, an official India launch date and India-specific price have not been confirmed in the sources cited here.

What It Means for Tablet Buyers

The iQOO Pad Ultra represents a specialised category of compact gaming tablets. Its high-refresh-rate display, dedicated gaming hardware and active cooling distinguish it from tablets primarily designed for video streaming, online classes or office productivity.

Indian consumers interested in the device should wait for official information about local availability, warranty support, software updates and service arrangements before considering an import or purchase.

News National fact-check: The launch and headline specifications have been checked against iQOO's official product page and technology-industry reporting. India availability remains unconfirmed.
