Tight Security Arrangements for Tirumala Garuda Seva; Tirupati SP and TTD Vigilance Officer Conduct Joint Inspection

Tirupati, October 15, 2026: The Tirupati District Police and the Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD) Vigilance and Security Department have strengthened security arrangements for the Srivari Garuda Seva scheduled for October 16 as part of the Tirumala Srivari Navaratri Brahmotsavams.

Tirupati District Superintendent of Police L. Subbarayudu, IPS, and TTD Vigilance and Security Officer K. V. Murali Krishna, IPS, jointly inspected the security arrangements to ensure that devotees can witness the procession and have darshan of Lord Venkateswara in a safe and peaceful environment.

Security Inspection Across Four Mada Streets

During the inspection, the officers reviewed arrangements across the four Mada streets, devotee galleries, outer ring roads, parking areas, and entry and exit routes.

The inspection focused on identifying potential crowd-management challenges and ensuring that security personnel are prepared to handle the expected influx of devotees. The officers issued instructions to field-level personnel on maintaining orderly movement, monitoring crowded areas and preventing any untoward incidents.

Special attention was given to the management of devotee galleries, vehicle parking and the regulation of entry and exit points.

Instructions to Bandobast Personnel

The officers directed police and security personnel deployed for the event to remain alert throughout their duties and maintain continuous surveillance of important locations.

Field-level officers were instructed to respond promptly to changing crowd conditions and coordinate effectively with other teams. The objective is to prevent overcrowding, minimise inconvenience to devotees and maintain a secure environment throughout the Garuda Seva.

The Tirupati District Police and TTD Vigilance Department are working together to ensure that security measures remain effective during the major religious event.

Devotees Asked to Follow Police Instructions

The Tirupati District Police have appealed to devotees attending Srivari Garuda Seva not to panic and to cooperate with the police and security personnel.

Devotees have been advised to follow official instructions, maintain patience in crowded areas and move in an orderly manner. They have also been asked to avoid pushing or rushing and to ensure that their actions do not inconvenience other worshippers.

Cooperation from devotees will help security personnel manage the crowds more efficiently and facilitate a peaceful darshan experience.

Safety and Crowd Management Remain Priorities

Garuda Seva is an important event during the Tirumala Brahmotsavams and attracts large numbers of devotees. Effective crowd management, organised movement, parking regulation and continuous monitoring are therefore essential to maintaining public safety.

The joint inspection by the Tirupati District Police and TTD Vigilance authorities forms part of the preparations to ensure the smooth conduct of the event on October 16.

The authorities have reiterated that the safety of devotees and the orderly conduct of the celebrations remain their primary priorities.
