Emma Navarro Reaches US Open Quarter-Finals, Faces Pegula Next

American Emma Navarro beat Anna Kalinskaya 6-4, 6-2 to reach the US Open last eight and will play compatriot Jessica Pegula next.

American Emma Navarro reached the US Open quarter-finals on Sunday, beating Russia's Anna Kalinskaya 6-4, 6-2 at Arthur Ashe Stadium in New York. The 26th seed will now meet fellow American Jessica Pegula for a place in the semi-finals.

Navarro, 25, came through her fourth-round match in straight sets. The win returns her to the final eight in New York, where she also advanced in 2024 before going on to reach the semi-finals that year.

The run is her first at a Grand Slam quarter-final stage since the 2025 Australian Open. It follows a lengthy absence from the tour earlier this year, when she stepped away for health reasons.

"It feels good to be back on Ashe," Navarro said after the match. "It's been a couple years, and I missed it a ton. I love playing out here."

Her victory rounded off a strong day for American players. Ben Shelton, Jessica Pegula and Frances Tiafoe had all won earlier in front of the home crowd, setting up Navarro's all-American quarter-final against Pegula.
