All-rounder Nitish Kumar Reddy has been advancing through his own rehabilitation at a steady pace. Stationed at the CoE, Reddy has pursued an intensive training program and is now operating at full capacity, indicating his readiness for international competition. His schedule has been meticulously organized around his recovery: he remains at the facility throughout the week and returns to his home only on weekends, demonstrating the commitment required to meet his target timeline.

Hardik Pandya, the other central all-rounder in India's lineup, has similarly devoted himself to his recovery process. To facilitate uninterrupted training at the CoE, Pandya has relocated his base to Bengaluru. Like Reddy, he has maintained an extended presence at the facility, taking breaks only when personal matters demand his attention. Bumrah's recovery on tighter timeline

Jasprit Bumrah's situation presents a more constrained path. The 32-year-old fast bowler was absent from both Tests against Sri Lanka earlier this month and remains in recovery at the CoE. The management is handling his return with particular deliberation, conscious of the two-Test series against New Zealand scheduled for later in 2026, as well as India's preparation toward the 2027 World Cup.

Bumrah's progress has been encouraging, yet his progression follows a recalibrated strategy. Left-arm spinner reassessment

The team management has begun reassessing India's left-arm spinner options in T20 cricket following recent tours of Ireland and England. Axar Patel's performances during these visits fell short of requirements. Across seven total matches in both countries, Patel claimed two wickets in four T20Is against England and two wickets in two T20Is against Ireland-a tally that underscores the need for alternative approaches.

This reassessment has brought Krunal Pandya into focus. The left-arm spinner has been absent from India's T20I setup since 2021, when he last played in the T20 series against Sri Lanka. However, his recent domestic form presents a compelling case for reconsideration. During the 2026 IPL season, Krunal captured 14 wickets for the Royal Challengers Bengaluru, placing him among the tournament's standout spinners in terms of productivity.
