ISRO is preparing to launch the NVS-03 navigation satellite on October 30 to strengthen India's indigenous NavIC system.

By News National Editorial Team

The Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) is preparing to launch its NVS-03 navigation satellite on October 30, 2026, in a fresh effort to strengthen India's indigenous satellite navigation system.

The satellite is part of NavIC, India's Navigation with Indian Constellation system, which provides positioning, navigation and timing services across India and the surrounding region.

NavIC supports applications including transport, maritime navigation, disaster management and location-based services. Strengthening the system is important for reducing dependence on foreign navigation networks and improving the availability of domestic positioning services.

The planned mission follows a challenging year for ISRO, with mixed results from earlier missions. The NVS-03 launch will be closely watched as the agency works to improve the performance and reliability of India's navigation infrastructure.

The launch date remains subject to final mission preparations and any changes announced by ISRO.
